At Seven Star Dental, we want to do all we can to help our patients feel comfortable and safe while they are in our care. If you have been delaying or postponing a visit to our office because you suffer from dental anxiety, you are not alone. We never want your nervous feelings to keep you from getting the dental care you need and deserve. Delaying dental care can lead to serious complications with your oral health and result in the need for additional or more extensive treatments.
Be Honest With Us
If you have been postponing your appointment because you are nervous about treatment or visiting our office, we want to know so we can help. It is common to experience nervousness at the dentist’s office, especially when you are unfamiliar with the treatment process. We are always happy to explain the treatment and the steps of the procedure if that would be helpful to you. Our office is designed to promote feelings of relaxation. Our examination chairs are heated and can also provide massages.
Tips to Calm Your Nerves
If you experience dental anxiety, we recommend giving these tips a try:
Be Mindful of Your Appointment Time
It is wise to schedule your appointment at a time that works best for you. We don’t recommend visiting our office after work or at a time when there may be traffic near the office. Be sure to give yourself plenty of time to arrive so you don’t feel rushed or stressed.
Bring Headphones
Although we do play music in the office and have Netflix available as well, we encourage patients to bring headphones to listen to their favorite music, podcasts, or audiobooks. It will make passing the time more enjoyable and can provide a pleasant distraction. This is also a wonderful idea if the noises in the office bother you.
We never want nervous feelings to keep you from getting the oral care you deserve. If you have not visited us for a hygiene examination within the past six months, or you need dental treatment, we encourage you to call our office, which is located in Cincinnati, OH, and schedule an appointment today. Please tell us about your feelings, and we will be more than happy to help you!
